otherways: After returning from duty in Iraq, Danny suffers PTSD. He is irritable, and high strung. He can't sleep, and he won't sleep. He takes cat naps, but when he closes his eyes, he relives the death of his men in Iraq. Ed's been there before, and he sympathises with Danny's plight. He's given Danny the names of a highly qualified shrink, but Danny won't talk. So, Ed decides to ask Danny to help him with a covert mission, loosely based on 2X15, Whale Of A Time, in which a woman comes to Ed for help, and Ed has to get her out of town without getting her killed. The three are in a warehouse when Danny spots a bomb. Ed and the girl get out, and it seems Danny was caught inside. A moment later, Danny crawls out of a ventilation duct, and in the brief scene with Ed following, it's clear Danny can't hear. By the next scene, Danny's hearing is fine, but for the purposes of otherways Danny will crawl out of the duct and in to the bar, following the explosion. He will have permanent hearing loss.
hearts_andminds: Danny comes to the village after 2X1: Have You Ever Seen The Rain. He's just returned from Iraq with an honorable discharge. Danny was head of a covert operation that went bad, they were over run, and Danny called in an air strike. He saved countless loves, but he killed every one of his team. He suffers PTSD, and is unable to sleep.
